Last summer Colorado saw a surge in mosquito populations, driving up West Nile cases. 🦟MSU Denver Biology students and recent grads, under the guidance of "Mosquito Man" and MSU Denver Biology Professor Bob Hanco*ck, Ph.D., logged over 3,300 hours in urgent mosquito surveillance efforts to help combat the outbreak.The study was unprecedented and featured in an article in the Journal of the European Mosquito Control Association. La Paloma, a jazz trio of MSU Denver students, debuted at Jazz Odyssey Presents, hosted by KUVO Jazz 89.3 🎺The two-hour performance was accompanied by poems and history remarks by a leading member of the band, Paloma Ress.
