What GPA do you need to stay at IU? ›

A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in the University Division is considered Academic Good Standing.

Premium Holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Non-Premium Holidays include Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Campus Holiday, and the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Under university policy, Exempt staff are not covered by FLSA overtime provisions and are not eligible for overtime pay. All Non-Exempt staff and part time employees are covered by the FLSA and required to be paid overtime.

Before or during the first week of the term you can drop all your classes online using Drop Classes task in One. IU. After the first week of classes through the last day of semester classes (the Friday before finals week), complete the Withdraw from All Subjects form through the Student Advocates office.

2.8 cumulative GPA and 1000 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT. 3.0 cumulative GPA with an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma (or out-of-state equivalent).

In the fall, full term classes begin on a Monday and end on a Monday to accommodate the Labor Day holiday. Fall Break is scheduled on a consecutive Monday and Tuesday in October following the first 8 weeks of the term and prior to the beginning of the second 8 weeks of the term.

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday of September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.

An employee is categorized as exempt if they meet the following criteria: Level of Compensation: Salaried employees earning more than $684 per week or $35,568 annually are classified as exempt. Exempt salaried employees are not entitled to receive overtime pay, although they may be eligible for certain bonuses.

In California, exempt workers are those who are not protected by wage and hour laws. Non-exempt workers are protected by these laws, giving them rights to overtime pay, a minimum wage, and meal and rest breaks. California labor law determines whether a worker is exempt; not the employer.

Withdrawal requests beginning the second week of classes should be initiated through a Late Drop/Add request in One. IU. Students who withdraw before the end of the ninth week of a regular semester or before the end of the fourth week during a summer session automatically receive a grade of W on the date of withdrawal.

Grading Policies

The desire to avoid a low grade is not an acceptable reason for withdrawal from a course. A grade of W does not affect the overall grade point average.

Credits with the grade "W" do not affect a student's GPA, but they are considered attempted credit hours, and can affect a student's eligibility for financial aid.

The university encourages such a student to work with an academic advisor to make plans to improve their performance in subsequent semesters so that they can succeed and graduate. Probation works as follows: Any student whose program GPA falls below 2.0 will be placed on academic probation.

Colleges and universities expect students to earn a minimum GPA to maintain enrollment. While this differs by institution, many require a 2.0—or C average. Falling below a 2.0 often means that you will be placed on academic probation until you can raise your GPA.

First-year applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. High school students out of state, high school graduates prior to 2011, and homeschooled students: College prep credits equal or comparable to: 4 years of English/language arts. 3 years of mathematics (Algebra I & II, geometry)
