We bought this trailer from a dealer in January 2020. The owner that traded it in went with something bigger and had treated it extremely well. He did a few upgrades, and we added a few of our own. Overall, it has been reliable and great for family camping trips. We’ve had some to be expected, minor fit & finish issues that we resolved, but the only major issue we ran into was a weld failure for one of the threaded connections on the hot water heater. Since it was obsolete, we installed the manufacturer suggested Dometic substitute, and it’s a better constructed model. The trailer has been in covered storage when we are not using it, so that has helped with wear and tear. There have been no water leaks.
This is a simple, light trailer with a big bathroom and bunks. There are no slides and nothing complicated. We really have no big issues with the trailer and it’s a great layout, but we are ready to move to a B van.
On May 11th, I did a thorough cleaning of the interior and took some good pictures. I need to give the exterior a wash and will include a few more exterior pictures shortly. Note that the pictures don't show the stabilizing bars in place as I was just pulling it out do interior cleaning and checks. When they're in place, it tows level.
Upgrades/Modifications:
-Weight Distributing Hitch 600lb Tongue / 6000lb trailer.
-Battery Disconnect Switch (previous owner install)
-Battery Monitor (previous owner install)
-Coat/Towel Racks by Door
-Coat/Tower Rack in Bathroom
-Custom Bunk Ladder
Included Accessories:
-Tongue Jack Support
-Stabilizing Jack Risers
-Rug in the Pass Thru
- Liners in Every Drawer/Cabinet
-Memory Foam Mattress Toppers w/Mattress Covers
-Extra Battery Box; (2) Battery Boxes
-Cover for 2 x 20lb Propane Cylinders
Repairs Since Purchase:
-New hot water heater
-Replaced some loose/rusty hardware for stabilizing jacks.
-Replaced anchors holding the shower head support.
-Added caulk in a few areas where there were air leaks.
-Replaced toilet water valve.
Known Issues:
-The coach battery is on its last leg (maybe another year) and needs to be replaced, but since this is quite buyer dependent, I opted not to replace it.
-Typical scuffs and scratches
Towing:
We have towed it with a 2018 Honda Ridgeline since purchase. I would suggest a truck with a bit more tow capacity than 5000lbs if you plan to tow this cross-country. The weight distributing hitch will be included and worked well. The powered tongue jack works well, and since it’s the same model as used on much larger travel trailers, you can use it to your advantage when setting your tow bars.
Electric, Water, and Sewer:
We always used a surge protector to ensure no overvoltage and have had no electrical issues. All lights and outlets function properly. We have also always used a pressure regulator for the water as well as a filter for filling the freshwater tank. Gray and black tanks have been fine including sensors for fill level.
Heating & Cooling:
The air conditioner (Dometic) has always worked well to cool the trailer. It does not have the heat strip option. The furnace (Atwood) works as well, but if we were on shore power, we typically used a small space heater for colder weather camping.
Water:
The water pump (Flojet Triplex Diaphragm Pump) works with no issues and the previous owner added a valve and short hose for winterizing. As mentioned earlier, the hot water heater was replaced (Dometic WH-6GA) and works well. We normally use it on electricity, but it does work on gas as well. I replaced the toilet (Dometic 300 Series) water valve as there was an issue with the old one.
Cook Top, Microwave, and Refrigerator:
The refrigerator (Dometic) works fine on either gas or electricity. The 3 burner cook top (Atwood) works like new and we never really used it opting to cook outside on a Coleman stove or using a Crock Pot. Microwave (High Pointe EM925AWW) works fine.
Entertainment:
The Jensen AWM968 works fine for CD’s, DVDs, and Radio. It’s connected to a Contex LED TV which worked fine as well. Outside speakers work as well. Powered awning and LED light strip work as well.
Obviously, if you’re a serious buyer, I will demonstrate that everything works. I can even do this off generator power to demonstrate boondocking. If you’re a first-time trailer owner, I’d be happy to walk you through the setup of the trailer and I do have every original manual for the trailer.
The price is $12,900OBO. Reply thru Craigslist with interest or offers.
Thanks, Dan
