Starring Brooks Winfield, a former miner from California, joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1940 and was stationed on USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor. On the day that Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941, Winfield went down with the ship. Thanks to the advent of DNA testing, and a DNA Submission by Winfield's sister, Winfield was identified and has since been laid to rest with military honors. #Navy #Military #History #Militaryhistory #Thisdayinhistory
